The watch was a gift of appreciation for Kennedy's appointment of David Bruce as U.S. ambassador to Great Britain; it was inscribed "To President John F. Kennedy / from the Evangeline / 1963." This ancient clock sold at auction in 2009 for only $120,000, finding a new home with an unnamed bidder. It came with a letter guaranteeing its authenticity.

John F. Kennedy Cartier Tank
Let's take a closer look at a historical clock that's quite outstanding. While John F. Kennedy did not own a gold Cartier Tank watch, his brother-in-law, Prince Stanislaw "Stas" Radziwill, gave one to Jackie Kennedy as a present in 1963. This magnificent artwork, inscribed "Stas to Jackie / 23 Feb. 63 / 2:05 AM to 9:35 PM," honors a 50-mile walk that Jackie and JFK took in Palm Beach that will never be forgotten. A record-breaking $379,000 USD was paid at auction in 2017 for this exceptional timepiece, much exceeding the original estimate of $120,000 USD.
